Buford Road Pharmacy’s Test and Treat service offers convenient and comprehensive solutions for various health concerns. Our health clinic provides rapid testing and effective treatment for conditions such as COVID-19, Flu, and Strep Throat. See below for eligibility, pricing, and appointment scheduling. If you are not eligible for Test and Treat at the pharmacy, you will be referred to your primary care doctor or urgent care services.

COVID-19
COVID-19 can significantly impact your health. You may be eligible for treatment if you are at risk of being severely sick from COVID-19.
Who is eligible for COVID-19 treatment at the pharmacy?
- Adults 18 years and older and Children 12 years and older weighing at least 40 kg (88 lbs)
- Symptoms started within 5 days
- Have had liver and kidney function labs within the past 12 months (and have access to labs)
- At high risk of progression to severe COVID-19. Click here to see who is at high risk
- No interactions between current medications and Paxlovid (nirmatrelvir/ritonavir), the medication used to treat COVID-19. Click here to see which medications will make you ineligible for treatment at the pharmacy
Who is NOT Eligible for COVID-19 treatment at the pharmacy?
Any one of the following may make you ineligible for treatment at the pharmacy. If you are ineligible for treatment, you will be referred to your primary care doctor or urgent care services.
- Children 12-17 years old weighing < 40kg (80 lbs)
- Children < 12 years old
- Symptoms starting > 5 days ago
- Not at high risk of progression to severe COVID-19. Click here to see who is at high risk.
- No liver or kidney function labs within the last 12 months
- Drug interactions between current medications and Paxlovid (nirmatrelvir/ritonavir), the medication used to treat COVID-19.

Influenza
Influenza can significantly impact your health. See below for information on who is eligible for testing and treatment of flu at the pharmacy.
Who is eligible for Flu treatment at the pharmacy?
- Adults 18 years and older
- Has symptoms of influenza (fever, muscle aches, headache, malaise, nonproductive cough, sore throat, runny nose)
- Symptoms started less than 2 days ago
Who is NOT Eligible for Flu treatment at the pharmacy?

Pregnant or breastfeeding

Immunocompromised

Had a positive flu test in the past 4 weeks

Uses supplemental oxygen (uses oxygen tank)

STREP THROAT
Strep throat can significantly impact your health. See below for information on who is eligible for testing and treatment of strep at the pharmacy.
Who is eligible for Strep treatment at the pharmacy?

Who is NOT eligible for Strep treatment at the pharmacy?
- < 18 years old
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Immunocompromised
- History of rheumatic fever, rheumatic heart disease, scarlet fever, kidney problems caused by strep.
- Symptoms indicating a viral infection: conjunctivitis, runny nose, cough, mouth ulcers, hoarseness
- Allergy to all antibiotics used to treat strep: penicillin, amoxicillin, cephalexin, cefadroxil, azithromycin, clindamycin, clarithromycin
- Tonsils removed in the last 30 days
- Antibiotic use in the last 30 days used to treat sore throat or upper respiratory infection
- Severe symptoms: respiratory distress, stiff neck, muffled voice, low blood pressure, altered mental status, etc.
